An All-Mach Number HLLC-Based Scheme for Multi-Phase Flow with Surface Tension

This paper presents an all-Mach method for two-phase inviscid flow in the presence of surface tension. A modified version Hartens–Lax–van Leer Contact (HLLC) solver is developed and combined first time with a widely used volume-of-fluid (VoF) method: compressive interface capturing scheme arbitrary meshes (CICSAM). novel combination yields both HLLC shock as well accurate liquid–gas tracking characteristics. It achieved by reconstructing non-conservative (primitive) variables consistent manner to yield robustness accuracy. Liquid–gas curvature computed via height functions convolution method. We emphasize use VoF interest accuracy when modelling tension effects. The validated using range test-cases available literature. results show features that are sensible agreement previous experimental numerical work.
